Over the last few years, Southern Village has been fortunate to be a host for Rainbow Soccers weekday practices on the neighborhood’s central park fields. This spring, at the conclusion of the Rainbow Soccer season, the park will be closed for necessary re-seeding and repairs. These fields will remain closed through the fall of 2008 which would preclude Rainbow Soccer’s use of these fields for fall season.
Unfortunately the Southern Village central park fields have not faired well due to a combination of over-use and the drought. To get sustained use of these fields for years to come, the neighborhood landscaping experts have recommended closing the fields for both the summer and fall of 2008 to allow the new grass to take firm root.
Although there will be no Rainbow Soccer on the Southern Village fields this fall, the HOA is committed to having Rainbow Soccer return to Southern Village in the spring of 2009 and for many years to come. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but it is for the best course of action for the fields and the neighborhood.
