Neighbors for Responsible Growth (NRG) will sponsor a Chapel Hill Town Council Candidate’s Forum on Wednesday, September 23rd, 7 – 9 pm at Town Hall. We are inviting the public and neighborhoods to come and hear the views of Council candidates to become informed about the choices for the November election. NRG questions will focus on neighborhood concerns and the shape of future growth in Chapel Hill and are based on concerns we have heard from citizens. Major topics will include the goals of growth, the development review process, density, Carolina North’s impacts on transportation, and how to ensure public participation. Former Mayor Jonathan Howes will moderate the Forum and the session will be televised on local cable.
For a list of recent NRG activities, see http://www.nrg-nc.net/what_we_are_doing.html. We also invite you to a “Conversation with the Mayoral Candidates” on October 18, 3 – 5 Chapel Hill Public Library.
